GMI 's strength is the result of a technical experience in the embroidery field, which has been accumulated year after year since the early eighties, and is definitely one of the most competitive companies in the market of computerised embroidery systems.

GMI has been operating on this field for over 25 years and thanks to their highly qualified staff achieved the leadership during the first 4 years of activity.

GMI, previously named GEMINI, has entered the international market with  increasing success, acquiring new and bigger market shares first in Europe, then in North America, Brazil, Africa, and in Asia.

The secret of GMI's growing success is the continuos study and research for forefront products. GMI products ensure quality standards unlikely granted by others.

The innovative aspects GMI has introduced are well known to many operators in the field. Arriving "before the others" is always a goal to achieve, but in fashion and in the embroidery field it assumes a special meaning which GMI has always granted to its customers.

 

THE GMI GUINESS RECORDS

1984 GMI was the first company to apply the Mouse and the Drop-down menu concept to the software for embroidery (Windows™ philosophy);
1986 GMI introduced the first Punch and Edit system in line;
1989 GMI produced the revolutionary punching by "scanning" system which is still of their incontestable leadership;
1990 GMI was the first company to create the "Special Color Stitches" and the "wave effect".
1991 GMI presented their "expansion" fill invention, and won the STITCHES contest with the "Sunshine" embroidery.*****
1991 GMI invented the "Pursuing" function;*****
1993 GMI introduced the first punching system running under Windows™ environment;
1993 GMI was the first company to apply the use of a CD Rom in the embroidery field. Together, GMI introduced the "GMI 9000 Catalogue";
1994 An innovation is represented by embroideries created with 3D effects.

1998 Vector oriented system: to manage the embroidery source data as other graphic tools, with spline full control, and programmable density of embroidery.

1998 Introduces first the automatic outline recognition of a picture.
1999  GMI develop the first galvanometric laser for embroidery machine.
2000  GMI presents at IMB the first galvanometric laser.
2001  GMI introduces new effect with laser: simulated sequins, simulated cordel,..
2002  GMI developes new laser technology Laser II with larger area 300x300 and high speed
2003  GMI starts develop Laser III the top laser technology world-wide as spot size and working area
2004  GMI adds variable working area on laser III
2005  GMI starts introduction of laser III

GMI was established in 1980 to meet the organisational requirements of development and enhancement of the prior almost ten years old firm of his. This proven experience has been further confirmed by the accomplishment of innovative, state-of-the-art punching and editing systems in the art of embroidery, where of the world wide known "3000 Scanner" is the system par excellence.

Now "STILISTA" replace the "3000 Scanner" under a new project philosophy.

GMI's experience in the embroidery environment counts therefore almost twenty years. GMI has been projecting and developing an extremely variegated range of systems meeting the requests of the highly professional puncher but also those of non-experienced customers who wish to start their job with a low-cost system but nevertheless of such an effectiveness which is unknown to the competitor's cost- equivalent products.

GMI has been also operating on the international market since many years and has contracted distributors in the main foreign markets.
